The Police Command in Lagos State said yesterday that it had arrested the mastermind of the murder of a former winner of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS), Hector Jobarteh.
The police said the suspect, Ismaila Adeyemi, who was nabbed at Gas Line, in the Ijoko area of Ogun State, confessed he committed the crime.
Recall that the police had paraded some suspects at the command headquarters, which included an Uber driver, who took the men to the resident, and others who purchased his stolen phone.
The police spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, in a statement onTuesday, said the police had arrested the prime suspect, adding that he would soon be arraigned in court.
“The Lagos State Police Command, after weeks of intensive manhunt, wishes to announce to the general public the arrest of one Ismaila Adeyemi, 49, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobarteh, who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in the Agege area of Lagos State,” the statement said.
Recall that the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, had urged residents of Lagos state to assist the command with useful information to help fish out criminal elements in the State.
