The prophets in the beginning were musicians. They were poets, writers. That's what we've been tasked with in this life," Jay-Z says around the beginning of his newest video. "We're whistles. The wind goes through us, we make noise."
The only place Hov could think of to find that feeling again was Jamaica. So he got Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley to walk the streets of Kingston with a camera crew and called it the Bam video.
If you've seen the 4:44 video, you'll be used to the montage, non-linear type style video editing Jay is into these days. That style is continued in the Bam video. What's unique about this video is that it's spliced with visuals of Jay and Damian working on Dam at the Tuff Gong Studios, the same studio where, Bam Bam, the song sampled for this song was recorded.
