A serial cat killer was sentenced Friday to 16 years in county jail for stealing, torturing and killing more than a dozen cats in California.
Robert Farmer pleaded guilty to killing 18 cats and injuring three more San Jose’s Cambrian Park area in the fall of 2015, NBC Bay Area reported.
A judge read the names of the cats aloud during Farmer’s sentencing, and noted that the body of a tabby cat named Go-Go had not yet been found.

Go-Go’s owner, Miriam Petrova, said Friday’s sentencing provided closure for her and others whose pets were Farmer’s victims.
“Finally, today after almost two years and 15 hearings we got a justice for our babies!!!” she wrote on Facebook.
One of the abductions was caught on camera, according to NBC. Farmer was found on Oct. 8, 2015, with a dead cat in his car. Police also found chunks of fur, blood, fur-covered gloves, and a hunting knife in the vehicle.
At least one of Farmer’s victims died of blunt force trauma and may also have been sexually abused, a necropsy showed.
Myriam Martinez, whose cat Thumper was killed by Farmer, hoped the criminal would be forced to register as a sex offende
She shared her remarks in a Facebook group called “Justice for our CATZ” created by the cat owners.
“Time after time I have played in my head what you did to thumper and all of the other animals — you beat them, you tortured them and then when they were dead, you sexually abused them. Tell me, what kind of a monster does this?” she wrote in a statement delivered in court by her daughter.
As part of his sentencing, Farmer will not be allowed within 100 yards of the Cambrian Park neighborhood.
Additionally, he will not be permitted to own or care for a pet for 10 years after his release.
