A deranged Brooklyn man accused of bashing his cousin to death with a hammer claimed on Friday that he was acting in self-defense.
“I was actually trying to defend myself,” Osama Osman said in Brooklyn Supreme Court amid one of several outbursts.

Prosecutors say Osman killed Fataherlrhman inside the cousin’s fifth-floor apartment on E. 18th St. at Cortelyou Road in Flatbush.
The fatal dispute was set in motion when Fatahelrhman claimed Osman cost him his job,
Police sources said the bloodshed was the result of a heated argument between the cousins.
Judge Dina Douglas admonished the chattering Osman several times.
After the hearing, Osman’s lawyer said his client has psychiatric problems and is unfit to stand trial.
“This is a tragedy,” said defense lawyer Amy Rameau. “He previously was a productive member of society, but unfortunately, he’s got a psychiatric condition. He can’t help it.”
