Ex-Boxer Admitt I've Been On Bender

Lee Siner
A former champion boxer shot in a gangland feud flagged down police and handed over a bag of cocaine , admitting: "I've been on a bender".
Lee Siner, who was blasted three times with a shotgun in the 2014 shooting, deliberately drew the attention of officers in Kensington, Liverpool, on January 6.

In a heavily intoxicated state, the 31-year-old told the cops that he had been on a bender 'for a few days taking cocaine and drinking whisky', a court heard.
He then produced a bag of white powder from his pocket, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Siner was fined £100 at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court yesterday after handing over the bag of cocaine - which he had bought 'off some lad' for £50 - to the officers.
The court heard how the ex-boxer, of Clint Way, Edge Hill, had been slurring his words, grinding his teeth and sweating profusely when officers stopped to speak to him in Holt Road.

Ali Munair, prosecuting, said: “Officers on mobile patrol were travelling down Holt Road when they were flagged down by Lee Siner, who wanted to report an incident that happened nearby.
“He was heavily intoxicated and slurring his speech, and his clothes were dishevelled. He was grinding his teeth and officers noticed fresh cuts on his hands and knuckles.
“The defendant remained with the vehicle while other officers went to check what had happened. He said he had been on a bender for a few days taking cocaine and drinking whisky.”

The court heard Siner, without being asked by police, produced a bag of white powder from his pocket and handed it to the officers, telling them it was cocaine.
Ian Taylor, representing Siner, told the court his client had referred himself for drug and alcohol counselling and had “fully cooperated with police”.
He said: “I hesistate to say that if he had never flagged down the officers he would never have come to the attention of police.”

The court heard Siner’s last conviction was for perverting the course of justice, after paying to have penalty points removed from his driving licence.
Siner, formerly one of the top names at Liverpool’s acclaimed Salisbury ABC gym, narrowly escaped with his life after being shot in view of his wife and 18-month-old son in October 2014.
Sources told the ECHO the attack was the result of a feud with a notorious city gangster.
He was chased down the street by a lone gunman and shot three times in the back after leaving a home in Maberley View, Wavertree.

Siner was also subjected to a chilling three man attack when he was stabbed in the arm, slashed in the leg and attacked with a crook lock at Kimos restaurant, Myrtle Street, in 2010.
City gangster Anthony Richardson, who was jailed for eight years for his part in the attack, said it was revenge after Siner “knocked out” another underworld crook, James ‘Pancake’ Taylor, in Garth prison in Leyland.
Taylor was later jailed for nine years in relation to the incident, which was described in court as an “underworld vendetta”.
City magistrates also ordered Siner to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge after her admitted possession of a Class A drug.
