Liverpool:Carlos Bacca Will Cost Every Penny Of His £21.5m Release

According to reports Liverpool have been warned they will have to trigger Carlos Bacca’s transfer release clause if they want to take him to Anfield.

The Reds have turned their attentions to Sevilla striker Bacca, who scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, after a rethink over Aston Villa counterpart Christian Benteke.
Totteham and Italian club Roma are also interested in Bacca, who scored twice in last month's Europa League final win and has a £21.5million fee written into his contract.
And Sevilla sporting director Monchi has warned any club wanting to take the player, who turns 29 in September, would have to stump up that sum in full.
He said: “We have no intention of selling him.
“If someone wants Bacca, they have to pay his clause. He’s told us that it’s his desire to stay with the club and I don’t see any other possibility.”
Villa are adamant that they will not budge on their £32.5million for 24-year-old Benteke and Liverpool will not meet that fee.
The Reds also have Juventus' Spain international striker Fernando Llorente on their short-list and have scouts at the Copa America in Chile monitoring Colombia international Bacca and other potential targets.
Manager Brendan Rodgers completed the signing of Joe Gomez over the weekend, and the Charlton defender said what Liverpool stood for made it a simple choice.
The England U20 international said: “The club has got great history and it’s a great club, and one that I’ve always been following from when I was young.
“The style of football and the top players here was somewhere that I wanted to go and get better and learn, and play good football. It was an easy decision.
“Being a young player, I know that opportunities can be slim sometimes. But under a manager like Brendan, it speaks for itself. That’s why I was really keen to come here and play under him.”
