Damian Lewis To replace Daniel Craig as James Bond

Damian Lewis  has emerged as one of the frontrunners to be the new James Bond.
The flame-haired star is being heavily tipped to take over from Daniel Craig as the fictional suave spy after punters placed big bets on the Homeland actor taking on the role.

Bookmakers have slashed their odds following the gamble, with Ladbrokes making Damian their 2/1 favourite for the coveted role, while William Hill have the actor as their 3/1 second favourite.

William Hill saw Damian's price collapse from 25/1 into 3/1 following a flurry of £200 bets.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "This is an unprecedented gamble, as for no apparent reason we have seen bets of up to £200 on Damien Lewis being named as the next Bond.
"This could well be significant and might herald the end of Daniel Craig as the world’s most famous spy.
"The gamble has stirred up the market and shaken our belief that Daniel Craig will return as 007.”

Idris Elba is 5/2 favourite with Hills but Ladbrokes slashed their odds on Damian being the new 007 from 20/1 to 2/1 and he is favourite ahead of Idris.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "The gamble on Lewis has developed out of no where and with such serious pace we've been forced to cut his odds all the way down into favouritism."
Other stars in the running are Tom Hardy (3/1), Henry Cavill (6/1) and Michael Fassbender (8/1).
