Georgia Davies has set a new Commonwealth Gamesrecord during her heat for the 50 backstroke event this morning.
The Wales swimmer won her heat with a time of 27.90 to seal a place in this evening’s semi-finals.
Autralia’s Emily Seebohm was second fastest, just ahead of England’s Lauren Quigley.
English swimmers Elizabeth Simmonds and Jess
Fullalove are also through, along with Scotland’sKathleen
Dawson and Danielle Hill of Northern Ireland.
